Pop superstar Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have ended their engagement, concluding their nine-year relationship, PEOPLE confirmed on June 26, 2025. The split comes amid reports that Bloom is expected to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Italy “as a single man,” according to TMZ.
The couple’s love story began in 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party when Bloom attempted to take a burger from Perry’s table — a moment she later recounted on American Idol. “I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and I saw this hand swoop in — it was Orlando,” she said. “I was like, ‘Hey, that’s my burger!’”

After a brief split in 2017, they reunited in 2018 and announced their engagement on Valentine’s Day 2019. Plans for a wedding in Japan were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Their relationship was often described as “on and off,” and their co-parenting dynamic appeared strong. Perry even presented an award to Bloom’s ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, calling her a “sister” and debunking outdated ex-wife narratives. Bloom shares a son, Flynn, with Kerr. Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand.

While Bloom steps into single life, Perry is in the middle of her 2025 Lifetimes Tour and has yet to comment on the breakup. It’s unclear whether she will attend Bezos’ wedding, though she made headlines earlier this year for joining a Blue Origin spaceflight — a move that drew both praise and criticism.
