On July 4, global music star Bad Bunny released a powerful new music video for “NuevaYol”, featuring a surprising moment: a voice eerily similar to Donald Trump delivering a heartfelt apology to immigrants in the United States.
In the mid-section of the video, four men listen to a boombox blaring a voice that mimics the former president, stating, “This country is nothing without the immigrants… Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans.” The moment ends with the men shaking their heads and walking away — clearly unconvinced.
While the speech doesn’t match any known Trump address — and starkly contrasts with his usual anti-immigrant rhetoric — the voice is likely a high-quality impersonation or AI-generated simulation. Neither Bad Bunny nor his team has confirmed how the audio was created.
The video, released on Puerto Rican Independence Day, includes symbolic imagery like Bad Bunny hanging the Puerto Rican flag on the Statue of Liberty and attending a quinceañera, celebrating Latinx identity and heritage.

The artist, known for using his platform to speak out on social issues, has criticized ICE, endorsed Kamala Harris, and condemned racism and xenophobia in recent years. He has also excluded the U.S. from his upcoming world tour, telling media it was simply “unnecessary.”
The “NuevaYol” video continues Bad Bunny’s bold political commentary, blending art, satire, and activism in a way few pop stars attempt.
