Is Ghost Releasing New Music Ahead of Their 2023 Tour? Here’s What We Know

The wait might soon be over for fans of Ghost! With the band’s highly anticipated European tour kicking off on May 21 at Zenith in Rouen, France, rumors are swirling that new Ghost music could be arriving just in time.

Tobias Forge Teases New Ghost Music Before Tour Launch

In a recent interview with French radio station OUI FM, frontman Tobias Forge hinted that changes are coming—possibly including new songs from Ghost before the tour begins.

“There are going to be a few changes. There might be, between now and then, new music. Just saying,” Forge said, keeping fans on edge with his cryptic yet exciting tease.

While Forge didn’t confirm a specific release date or title, his comments strongly suggest that Ghost could release new material to accompany the updated tour setlist.

What Kind of Changes Can Fans Expect?

Aside from possible new music, Forge alluded to a different show structure. He acknowledged that not all fan-favorite tracks make it into the live set for technical or performance reasons—but that doesn’t mean he’s opposed to switching things up.

“Sometimes a song can be hard to play well so it sounds good. So it feels good. So it fits well in the set,” Forge explained, clarifying why some songs are rarely performed live.

Fans of the Ghost storyline also have reason to speculate. In a recent chapter of the band’s lore, a character ominously tells Papa Emeritus IV, “The shows are scheduled. I KNOW when your time is up.” Could this mean a new Papa persona will debut soon? All signs point to yes.
